15-Minute Sesame Noodles
These sesame noodles can be ready to serve in 15 minutes. Quick as ever, versatile and flavorful, this quick noodle dish is a huge hit!
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Salt the water and add noodles. Cook until al dente according to package directions. Drain.
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bell peppers and cook until nice and tender, 3 minutes. Remove onto a clean plate.
Add white part of green onions and garlic onto now empty skillet and cook until nice and fragrant, 1 minute.
Add soy sauce, brown sugar and sriracha, if using. Simmer until sugar is melted.
Remove from heat and add drained spaghetti. Toss to combine.
Stir in sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds. Serve with bell peppers on the side.
Note 1: Bell peppers are optional here. It’s a great way to add color and veggies to the meal. Feel free to use different colored bell peppers, or different vegetables, like carrots, broccoli, snap peas, etc.
Note 2: I highly recommend light Japanese soy sauce aka light soy sauce, such as Kikkoman All Purpose Soy Sauce, for this recipe. Learn more about different soy sauce varieties here.)
Note 3: If you love spicy food and are not serving it to kids, add a few squats of Sriracha into the sauce as you cook it. However, if you’re serving to kids or others who are not tolerant to spicy food, serve it on the side.
